So I've a week to go before I fly back to the UK and start work in Cambridge. I have a long weekend ahead of me, part of which will be spent making preparations. Next week is a round of socialising, including a very posh dinner with my team at one of Malmö's most expensive restaurants--the kind of place where they don't tell you the menu until after you've eaten it.
I still have three days of work, though I doubt I will get much actual work done. There are handovers to do and an exit interview. This last week I spent reviewing my team's performance so that it doesn't get lost down the memory hole at their next annual appraisal. They are good lads and I will miss them a lot.
It's odd. I will be exchanging he safety of Sweden for the rough and tumble of Britain. It's not an entirely equitable exchange, for all that I'll be better paid and pay less tax in the new job.
Still... England. Fish and Chips. Curry. Sainsbury's. The BBC.
And, of course, the rude but vital British, whom I have missed a lot.
See you all soon.
