Challenge: Percy + photograph

Percy kept a photograph of his mother on his desk. The photographic image would smile at him, when it wasn’t wandering out of the frame - maybe searching for the image of his father he’d snipped out and burned. He missed Molly. She’d been supportive of his ambition when no one else was. She still sent him owls bearing pleading, affectionate notes and his favorite foods sometimes. Percy didn’t dare reply. When midnight found him at his desk, scribbling yet another report, it was nice to glance at his mother’s picture and be reminded that someone loved him. It was enough.

Title: No Relation Of His

Word Count: 100
Challenge: Percy + Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley was empty these days, missing the young children yelling excitedly, and the middle-aged witches shushing them, who’d given the market its vitality. Half of the shops were closed, some boarded up. There were leaflets littering the streets and graffiti proclaiming pureblood supremacy scrawled on the lampposts. It was depressing to be here, like watching a sick relative die slowly. But life must go on and Percy had accounts to settle at Gringotts for the Ministry. He averted his gaze from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, one of the few stores doing brisk business. War profiteers were no brothers of his.
