had a stomach ache this morning and a headache this afternoon, but now i am feeling great.
i'm also now eating chocolate, which is awesome. i picked up some dark chocolate covered almonds and some dutch mints at a chocolate store in the village, and they are so good. mmmmmmm.
been having a mellow day, but a getting stuff done kinda day.
i am not terribly excited about driving up to big bear on my own tonight in the dark, but i've had worse. i am excited about being up at big bear, with a fun group of people and having positive experiences in the outdoors. it's just what i need!
today after work, i pack! since i kinda need to do that before i can leave.
in other news, i gave china a bath last night. turns out she has fleas. j had noticed some flea bites (he's obviously more tasty than i am) and so i got some flea shampoo and gave her a bath. she's such a good kitty, totally put up with it and didn't bite or scratch. didn't see any fleas in the water - but found a dead one later on after she had dried. and then later found a couple of live ones, on me. i am hoping that's an indication that they no longer like the taste of her skin and have decided to vacate the premises. if we are still finding fleas, the next step is actual flea medication (frontline or some such). it's weird, i haven't had to deal with fleas on a cat since i was a little kid. china is an indoor cat, but i let her outside to play on the patio and in the grass when i am supervising her. so i guess she must have gotten them there, but that seems weird to me. there has been a stray or neighbor cat running around lately, so she might have gotten it there. *shrug* who knows. it just means it's irritating until they are all gone.
she was really funny looking when wet tho. her little legs and head are so tiny compared to her bulky gut. it's awesome.
so, tonight - finish work, pack, drive to big bear, hang out all weekend, drive back on sunday and maybe do some laundry! there you have it, internet: my weekend is a non-stop fun-fest.
