I had intended to claim Wedge Antilles x Wes Janson at 1sentence many moons ago, but got exactly halfway through and got really creatively stuck. Now, years later, here are the ones I think are any good. *facepalm*

comfort
It's Wedge's first briefing as commander and his nerves are jangling; Wes comes in and takes a seat, propping his feet up on the briefing table and making himself comfortable, and Wedge is pretty much ready to kill him.

kiss
The first time they kiss is after Yavin; Wedge has made it back alive and Wes is just well enough to go to the awards ceremony and Wes kisses him in the hallway outside the infirmary--and Wedge has a thousand excuses, about how Wes is still sick and how he's not the hero, he's just alive, but none of them make it out.

pain
Wes grimaces, the blaster shot gaping huge in his side and Wedge's second thought it that if Wes cries out in pain, he'll give away their location--his first thought is he's not sure what he'll do if he loses Wes.

chocolate
Wes pushes the cup of hot chocolate across the table to his CO, regretting with every centimeter not keeping the steaming drink for himself, but the way Wedge's eyes close as he takes his first sip is validation enough, enough to keep him from reaching across the table and taking it back.

happiness
Both Ewok music and Ewok cuisine were acquired tastes, but really, even that didn't matter--they were here and victorious and together, and so they danced and ate the awful fire-roasted food and were overjoyed.

ears
Wes watches in amusement as Wedge blushes crimson all the way out to his ears; it's not that he's never heard Wes make a proposition like that before, but it's never been directed at him.

name
Wedge eventually uses names to keep his distance, when he's lost more friends than he can count, but first it's a diversion, trying to pretend he's not as close to Janson--Wes--as he is.

death
"We can't keep cheating death forever," Wes says quietly, and Wedge suddenly realizes how lucky they've been and how much they stand to lose.

sex
The first time they have sex, Wedge isn't sure what embarrasses him more--that he's fumbly and awkward and unsure, or that he gets a little angry when Wes just laughs off his awkwardness, like the whole thing means nothing to him.

touch
When Rogue Squadron comes back to Coruscant triumphant, rather hoping to get their commissions back, they've been away for so very long; no one notices the way Wes' fingers clench into the arm of Wedge's flightsuit, saying so much more with touch than words ever possibly could.

weakness
Wedge watches as Kell's edginess puts cracks in Wes' armor--suddenly Wes isn't at ease anywhere, not even in rooms he knows are safe, when he's alone with Wedge.

tears
The first time one of his pilots breaks down in tears, Wedge has no idea what to do; it's Wes who slings his arm around the poor girl's shoulders and speaks to her in soothing tones, and for a moment Wedge is actually jealous.

speed
Wes laughs at the way Wedge whines when the squadron is assigned Y-wings for a mission or two, reminding his commander that some of them had started off flying these "wallowing pigs."

freedom
They're both so very, very drunk when Wedge suggests they just walk away, just leave all this and start over again, somewhere quiet, safe, where they wouldn't have to hide; the next day, when they've shook off their hangovers and started into their mission-planning, Wedge can't meet Janson's eyes--the other man knows he could never just walk away from all of this, but that freedom had tasted so good for a moment.

life
When Syal is born, Wes is on hand; as he holds the tiny new life in his arms, he wonders for a fleeting second why he never settled down--and then Wedge turns to him, beaming like a supernova, and Wes remembers why this life is worth it.

jealousy
Wes unfolds, and more than just his joints are screaming in protest at the lateness of Wedge's return--he knows exactly what happens at this hour of the night, and although he likes Iella and he does want Wedge to be happy, every bone in his body aches with jealousy.

taste
One day, Wedge thinks as Wes brings up the awful lavender short pants once again, the man whose idea of "dressed up" includes showy vidscreen capes will stop giving him a hard time about his taste in dress.

devotion
"When they said you'd all resigned your commissions, I was down in Ackbar's office the next morning, demanding to turn mine in as well," Wes admits when Wedge returns, and Wedge grins--both at the idea that Wes would try to follow him and at the mental image of Hobbie bodily dragging Wes out of the Admiral's office.

blood
They're both still Too Young when they first witness an ejection-system malfunction--the seat had just misfired mid-mission, slamming the pilot against the cockpit hatch, leaving it smeared with blood and guts; it is Wes, uncharacteristically, who has to turn away from the scene, his body shaking from the tears he's trying not to cry, and Wedge tries to nonchalantly throw an arm across his friend's shoulders and hold him close.

sickness
Of course the mission is scrubbed--if Wedge is too sick to go, nobody's going--and Tycho stops by Wedge's quarters later in the morning with some soup from the canteen; when he gets there, he finds Wedge asleep (no surprise) and Wes sprawled chair next to the bed, also sound asleep, and so he just quietly shuts the door.

melody
Hobbie's drunken tenor is surprisingly pleasant, even outside the door of Wedge's quarters in the wee hours of the morning, but Janson's wobbly falsetto sounds like vornskr caterwauling, and Wedge opens the door and throws a datapad at his head.

star
Wes just eats up the Adumari adoration, grinning widely when he spots himself on one of the holoscreen billboards; "I'm glad I came along, Boss," he tells Wedge one evening, "I finally get my chance to be a star!"

home
"One of these days, Wes, you'll find a pretty girl and settle down and make a happy home," Wedge says, his arm snaked around Iella's waist, and Wes shoots him a dirty look.

fear
Although his smile never falters, inside Wes is terrified--he's just kissed his CO (who is not drunk, or even a girl) full on the mouth, for the hell of it, and Wedge looks like he wants to shoot him.

bonds
"I can't believe he tied me up and left me here," Wes complained loudly to Hobbie, who was standing nearby; Hobbie just shakes his head and smiles, saying that he probably deserved it, whatever he had done to Wedge, and Wes thinks back and grins--that's probably right.
