Homeless
There is the old adage that claims “home is where the heart is.” This saying is supposed to be reassuring and comforting. People are supposed to feel as though they will always have a home as long as they are amongst those they love and those that love them.
But what happens when you no longer feel as if you have a heart.
Emotions burn strong and violent in a moment as if all the anger and frustration will consume you whole. After the smoke has cleared, it is as if not a single feeling remains. Everything was burnt to nothingness in the peak of the explosion and now there is just emptiness.
It is as if every part of your body has felt too much and now has lost all sense of feeling, of touch, of life. Everything is as lifeless and empty as cold steel. You are not sure if this is better than the burning sensation that filled you that made you feel that the very thoughts in your mind and heart were ripping apart your insides. Feel nothing you tell yourself. Feel nothing you admit.
