It's a whale of a tale!
Just thought I'd mention that my application for being a staffer on Final Fantasy MUX got approved. Woohoo! I chose Bismarck as my aeon (he's a whale), in part because he's never been chosen before, and also in part because I guess I can't avoid playing aquatic mammal-type things as staffer alts. He looks like this:

I'll be taking care of the applications for Final Fantasy 3 (original 3, not 6), though I'll likely be taking over for other staffers on vacation, since I know basically all the games in the core franchise at least in part (and more than half quite well). I also have intentions of helping the new plotstaffer out with things she's running.
Amusingly, RP on Guild Wars 2 is getting stronger by the day (my charr's got a cru-u-ush), but RP on GW2 is very different from RP on the MUX. I get to be more descriptive and engaging on the MU*, whereas it's about quicker snippets on GW2. I just gotta make sure to not play too much of it. X) When I play on the MU*, I can play other games, clean house, write stuff, do chores, watch movies, even while I'm RPing. When I play GW2, I can basically do nothing else. I can already feel myself going 'Let's play more and more GW2!', and I have to convince myself to continue my trend of getting out of the house and seeing people.
And on that note, I had a great Christmas! I hope you did too.
