It was bright, overbearing, demanding, and it reminded her far too much of blood. His blood, their blood, it didn’t matter. EW. But when she would be standing calmly in her office and Tony would walk in wearing his magnificent suit of crimson and gold, pull off his helmet and smile brightly, Pepper would feel rather weak in the knees and suddenly red wasn’t as bad as she thought.

But as she leaned in, her eyes locked on his, he could see the brilliant emerald shine and the subtle flecks of gorgeous honey brown. He was so lost in them that for a moment, he forgot his predicament: her lips encroaching on his own. But then they both looked away. So much for that.
