elphra's wonderful lil 100 word ficlets. :) ...they're so much harder then they look. Done to get back into the flow of writing and because this is the first movie in a loooong time I've fan girl'd over. Last one was the first LotR so I'm a lil out of fangirl shape. ;) And here's to hoping all the tags and cuts work!
Title: Red Curtain
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #3 Red
Rating: PGish
Length: 100
Summary: Red had taken on many shades over Tony Stark’s life.
Red had taken on many shades over Tony Stark’s life. The bright orange red of the explosions around him. The dark red of his own blood soaking his shirt. The glowing red heart of the forge and the red hot metal under his hammer. The gaudy red of reporter’s lipstick. Most of these reds were something he wanted to forget. But the coppery red of Pepper Pott’s hair as if fell around his face in a curtain, the soft red in her cheeks as her lips curved upward in a playful smirk. Those were the reds he wanted to remember.
Title: Accidents Happen
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #4 Black
Rating: PGish
Length: 100
Summary: “You’ve got to be kidding me…”
“You’ve got to be kidding me…”
Tony just gave her a smirk and a shrug as he returned to fiddling with the hot rod’s engine.
“Laugh it up, Mrs. Potts,” he told her, his voice slightly muffled. And he was quite sure that he heard her chuckle as her heels clicked across the concrete floor.
“I told him to wear eye protection,” Jarvis added dryly, a noncommittal grunt of annoyance coming from Tony.
“I have to ask how….?”
“No, you don’t,” he replied, looking up to see Pepper offering him an ice pack to go with his increasingly black eye.
Title: Steely
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #5 Blue
Rating: PGish
Length: 100
Summary: Tony Stark missed many things while he was imprisoned.
Tony Stark missed many things while he was imprisoned. Some of them totally inane - hamburgers, music, deodorant - some of them a bit more serious - Pepper, Rhodes, Jarvis. He missed the sky, the sound of the ocean, the smoothness of Jarvis‘s technical readout under his fingers, Pepper‘s ability to say volumes with a glance. When they lowered the flight ramp, he remembered just how much he’d missed those steel blue eyes - and the woman they belonged to - that it put steel in his spine. He rose and walked forward, anchored by steely blue. He was home.
Title: Growing
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #6 Green
Rating: G
Length: 100
Summary: Pepper Potts wasn’t a flowers kind of girl.
Pepper Potts wasn’t a flowers kind of girl. She didn’t swoon over roses or tulips or any other bundle of flowers. In fact, they irritated her nose and her marginally obsessive tidiness. What was the point of them? Flowers, cut off from their main plant, died in short fashion. No, she wasn‘t the flowers type. So she was surprised to find a small potted plant - an elegantly tended bonsai - front and center on her desk after a night that involved more patching up her boss then sleep. The note attached told her who it was without any signature.
Title: Concrete
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #7 Grey
Rating: G
Length: 100
Summary: If he could only have one room in the house, he was sure it would be his garage.
If he could only have one room in the house, he was sure it would be his garage. The grey concrete cocoon was his sanctuary and his external brain as he’d heard once described. Cluttered metal scraps and parts, holding his precious memories of his father in the form of the hot rod. He could play the music loud, resulting in it being loud enough to vibrate in his chest. But it would loose it’s grey tinge and exchange it for something more vibrant when he was informed that there was a meeting he was already late for it.
Title: Coffee and sympathy
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #8 Brown
Rating: G
Length: 100
Summary: He couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
He’d been up for two days, eyes to make a raccoon proud and a shirt smeared with grease. He couldn’t figure out what was wrong. The door opened quietly, the smell of coffee perking him up. He didn’t even turn, the mug pressed into his hand. It woke him up with just the smell and a long drink helped the process along. Pepper leaned against the desk with her mug in hand.
“Still no luck?”
He grunted a negative, having become nonverbal after day one. She gave his shoulder a squeeze, leaving him to stare forlorn at the broken robot.
Title: Stronger Stuff
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #9 Gold
Rating: G
Length: 100
Summary: Only someone like Tony Stark would cringe when hearing Pepper described as ‘golden’.
Only someone like Tony Stark would cringe when hearing Pepper described as ‘golden’. The inner geek in him would list properties of gold, how pure gold was weak and dense, how it was a conductor. Not his Pepper. He could count on one hand the times she’d appeared weak. And dense?! Never! To keep up their verbal ping pong…no, not dense. And if anything, she was an insulator. She kept the world at arm’s length for him, taking the calls and emails that she knew he would botch or ruin completely. No, not gold. She was far stronger and valuable.
Title: White Noise
Author: Minibothan
Theme: #10 White
Rating: PG
Length: 100
Summary: After years of sleeping in the house alone, Tony’d grown used to it’s usual noises, the white noise that he’d hear sleepless night after sleepless night
After years of sleeping in the house alone, Tony’d grown used to it’s usual noises, the white noise that he’d hear sleepless night after sleepless night . The hum of the generators, the just barely audible and random noise of Jarvis’s keeping watch. When the weather was moody, he could hear the waves against the cliff, rain against the windows. But he’d finally found his favorite white noise, the sound that could lull him to sleep without fail - the sound of a certain red head’s hushed breathing as he wrapped his arms around her and dozed off as well.
