Oh man, it was absolutely fantastic! I'm also just a little bit sad that it's over, but as per usual, I adored it. 5 out of 5, many more re-reads coming.
Hehe, and I`ll never stop my anony posts - even when I remember to put my name on the comment, I sometimes can`t log on.
Yeah, I was waiting for Hot Rain but figured he was more of an enemy of Eric than Sookie (but took it out on Sookie). But I did look for both Mickey and Hot Rain, feeling they had been sorely left out. But Mickey may have been under punishment still. Who knows?
No, but there was an opening towards having children. She was also not married, though she wanted it (it was at least mentioned), but there was an opening towards it. No doors were closed.
I figured Cope was dead, or as good as, since he was sent of with the vamps.
Freyda was solved as much as Sookie is concerned. She left and she will not be able to hurt Sookie (unless Sookie wants to take a vacation in Oklahoma).
I want it to go on forever, yes :-D And life does. But this series ended as if it wasn`t just the series that ended but Sookie`s life. No, not ended, but resolved. It would have been much more credible if most of the things in Sookie`s life had ended up unresolved because that`s how things are. We don`t live in a romance novel where, just before "the end" the hero and heroine declare their undying love, they land a bag of money, she finds out she is pregnant and the bad guys are severely hurt and can never come back. That`s chewing gum for the brain and fine for romance, but CH does not write romance. I want things to be up in the open - especially with that book coming in the fall.
After Sookie killed his Charles, I would think that he'd take it far more personally. I doubt Mickey is still being punished. And hey, Amelia didn't actually change. Many of the people who hated Sookie have always hated her, and those who liked her have always liked her. Some wait for their opportunity, and some just consistently hate on her. Much like the fandom.
I think doors were closed. No Fangtasia, for example. Seriously less Pam. And a warning from Karin and Pam that they might get tempted to turn her.
I'm not sure that's what Pam has in mind. After all, the soulless guy can get past magical wards that thwart vampires - which Pam found fascinating. Since Copley sold his soul for money, I don't doubt he could be persuaded to sell his services for survival. And that means he's always lurking in the background.
I'm not sure that Freyda sees her as a complete non-threat. Eric didn't order that protection for shits and giggles.
Greedy girl. :D But that's the entire premise of the books. I mean, we know the answer to a mystery at the end, even if it isn't tied up in a bow by police, we know who killed Geoff Marriot. The things that were resolved for Sookie were sort of hanging up in the air since the last book. Sookie dismisses them, but that doesn't mean that Hooligans *actually* sits empty. That just doesn't happen in the real world. Niall is sweet on Sookie, and would give her anything - and he already paid a substantial amount to bribe the government. It hardly changed the entire books complexion, or ending.
Greedy, greedy girl. :D You can have all the Eric revisionism fanfic you can get your paws on instead. Lucky you! :D
Now I have to write a fanfiction with Hot Rain. I`ll fix CH`s mess ;-)
Yes, but I mean family-doors.
At any rate - his future is looking bleak. Dead or alive ;-)
I saw that protection as something for Felipe as well. Eric tried to make sure. For Sookie`s sake but also for his own as she could be used against him.
I think it did change a lot of things, this need to tie all these bows. I wouldn`t have minded a few open questions at the end - because that`s what life is all about. It`s what I hated about Harper (and it`s probably my favorite CH series even if it was very short) - the need to solve murder at the end. I could have lived well with it being unsolved because that`s how things often are.
I may actually write a Sookie-Eric after DEA fanfic because there is really no way they could ever be together - and if that`s not a challenge, then I don`t know what is. I love a challenge, but you know I`ll not make Sookie apologize or any such crap. I`ll have to have an opening statement about being fine with Sam, though. And I`ll probably screw up on book facts what with my poor memory and all. So beware of a fanfic where characters change names, where dead people are suddenly alive and where major plotlines are forgotten ;-)
Lol - at this rate almost all of the summaries will be the same.
Definitely - and we have evidence of that, since Horst tried to come to her house. And it would be easy to use her against him.
I'd also like to point out that Harp Powell is still nosing about out there too - with a mind to look into all the people who died that Sookie doesn't like. I don't think it was as pat as you felt. But that's okay - I know this is your pet peeve. But at least there's no say....Queen Pam. :D
I can't say that I'm all that interested in continuing fanfic. I know pretty much everything there is to know. *Maybe* popping into a few post-DEA fics for other perspectives, but the truth is that I have little patience for the whole St. Eric thing - and that's the greater majority of fic. Two years of Sookie grovelling, and I am fucking over it. But I'm sure that I'll read yours - for the sake of hoping for something that doesn't fit the mould.
A Queen Pam would have calmed me down. I would have accepted any red bow and niceties if Pam had become queen. Especially if she`d had a real crown and one of those red and white capes. Ah, that would have been something *stares dreamily at screen*
Hmmm, if this challenge was to work I`d have to make rules for myself. No St Eric would definitely be one of them. Though it is hard since we all know that Eric is truly a saint and Sookie treated him SO badly. *end of sarcasm*. I actually wrote the first chapter but not sure I can write a full story. I`ve never been that good with stories that demand that I remember a lot of details from the books. Or stories with a lot of storylines woven into each other. This would have to have both *swallows heavily*
I've told you before. NO QUEEN PAM - she'd be just like Freyda, and Eric is already married. :D
It is hard. She was all hanging onto her humanity, and not doing as she's told. She's willing to forgive Bill, but not willing to live alone under threat of death from Freyda to be a piece on the side for Eric. She's so damn unfair to him. ;)
Lol - that would certainly be quite the challenge for you.

But really, I want more books :-(

Humanity - shumanity. Didn`t she know that vamp guys always get the girl they want? Zjeez.
It would. And I would probably be peppering you with questions. I have twenty lined up already and I`ve only written the first chapter.

You're right. In my shame, I forgot it was the Eric Northman chronicles, and they exist to revolve around his happiness.
I can undoubtedly answer most of them - or at least I know where I might find it. :D

*rolls eyes at PMR* He is a 1000 years old Viking, after all.
Oh, you`ll be peppered with questions....
I did ask some at the random-fandom - just to spare you a little ;-)

Lol - of course. Why wouldn't we be interested in his brief affair with a human as part of his lifetime.
I happily volunteer. :D
