A Most Shocking Turn

So, so, so. I've been thinking about that blurb while I was gone. Thanks to those who think of me and message me, while I am gone. At the moment, I think of you all regularly, because the wili wili flower grows by our clothesline and it's in bloom. I see what I consider the peculiar red flower Eric gave to Sookie and think of my lovely friends. ( Read more... )

Eric has always been my favoured suitor for Sookie, in part because Eric was introduced in DUD to serve as an alternative of sorts to Bill, who reminds me of an emotionally abusive ex of mine who did his level best to make me feel inferior. I hate that Bill has made Sookie feel self-conscious about not being well-traveled or having 'refined tastes'. Eric, on the other hand, seems to value what Sookie has to say. But since this is not an either-or situation, and nor should it be, Sookie's decision of who she loves and who she wants to be with is the only thing relevant here. Now back to hyperventilating fangirls, I find it surreal how some women - grown ass women - are prepared to take it as a personal slight whether two fictional characters end up together or not. Amazon book reviews are a revelation in fangirl psyche where people want to be spoonfed information and declarations of everlasting love and devotion, aka a snorefest. I do believe that a lot of people will be dissatisfied with the ending regardless of the outcome ( ... )

I hate the backlash that this accusation will have on Sookie, however short-termed, since she is often around children, especially since Hunter's dad in Red Ditch will probably hear the news of Sookie's arrest.

I hate it too - but it'll give her a good idea of who are her fast and firm friends. I'll fistpump every time someone stands up for - I know Sam will be one, which already makes me feel fluffy inside. And I think Remy will be okay - after all, he's got his own little truth detector there. :)

:D Your IP is the same with the two posts. :D

Bill is that quintessential ex that makes you feel inferior. I think many of the women in the fandom can relate to the guy that fucking mansplains everything to you. That guy that teaches you a lot about what you *don't* want from relationships, because he thinks he so fucking clever. I like Eric a lot better because even though he was higher in class than Sookie when he was alive, he never makes Sookie feel that ( ... )

Lol don't they know that real mens growl and grunt and point at the food while scratching at their armpits and other such masculine implements! Although one conversation I would have liked to see would be an apology for the bitegate. And there better damn well have been one!

Children are referred to as casualties of war, and their stories often swept neatly under the carpet because the public and the media alike are not ready to deal with such issues that challenge their beliefs and make them uneasy about their world.

So no, no redemption for Arlene. There will be lots to fit into this book by the sound of things. And if I were CH, I'd be going into hiding too ;P

Isn't that what makes them adorable - the grunting and the scratching bits and the mesmerised with Bear Grylls? Men mostly do not want to sit down and talk about feelings. I would have liked an apology for that hard bite, yeah. Maybe a kick in the shins as well.

See, that's why she'd pick that subject. No one else wants to cover it - everyone shies away from the idea of children getting hurt. Even Bill knows it's pretty heinous - and he's always down with the idea of killing.

I don't think there will be redemption for her. She'll be the ultimate lesson in why you think for yourself and don't let a man do it for you. A vindication for Sookie that she didn't just go along to get along. Exciting!
