Bill as HEA??? thyradane March 19 2012, 16:26:29 UTC
I always thought the Bill`s Babes were TB-people only. How can anyone have read the books - really read the books - and still root for Bill? Apart from the rape(s), which should end any thoughts of a relationship between the two immediately, there is nothing positive for Sookie from being with Bill ( ... )

Oh, they're around. I usually check in with them one time per book release, and then feel like I need an emotional shower with the sheer amount of vitriol poor CH and Sookie get. But I did lurk trying to figure it all out, because having read the books, and mostly liking Bill in the beginning, I couldn't understand why it was different for them. I worried that I'd missed something.

Yeah - the Selah thing. He was such an epic dick about that. He's not actually telepathic, so he doesn't know what kind of crap was in Selah's head feeding into Sookie, and he undermined Selah's self worth too. A *complete* arse there.

I liked it too - but I also thought it was sad that she got such a blasting by the fandom. It was all concern for Eric, because of course, he's too sensitive to ever be told "No".

Was there really a negative reaction from fans about Sookie making this noise of protest? That seems absurd to me. I've never read too much particular quote. To me it was simply a moment of realism, in the same vein as Sookie interrupting sexy talk while straddling Eric to complain of being cold in DTTW.

I find it interesting to read the way others interpret certain scenarios. It makes me very sad to consider that some women might feel powerless and unable to make their feelings known over something (that I consider) as simple as alerting a partner that he's forgotten himself in the moment and is pulling too hard, or any similar thing. Also angry. It makes me very angry. :|

I got a message from someone once who pointed out that her doing that was selfish, and said to them that not all people love having their hair pulled, and have serious issues with the suggestion of force.

Oh yeah - unfortunately. I was appalled and disgusted about it - it was somewhere on the Fanfic forum, and somewhere here on LJ. There's a lot of stuff Sookie gets attacked for - it's practically limitless in the stuff she gets attacked for. She got attacked for not comforting Eric over her own torture.
