The Queen's Consort and his Wife

Such is this time of year that I am most likely to leave the fandom. This is the third year in a row, and can't it be over now? The Sookie hate, and the complaints about the books drive me up the wall. I almost left this time last year - so I'm not really talking anywhere but here, where I can blast the hell out of negative Nellies in the ( Read more... )

I thought it was so clever - it's the perfect situation - Eric either chooses rightly, or it all falls apart. And Sookie's own actions coming back to serve them well would be most excellent.

I would so be behind a fic where Eric made the wrong choice and came back to Sookie who didn't want him. Bill fucked up at this point. I hope Eric learned that lesson. He does deserve it for being a prick - at least to eat some dust in fanfic.

I don't think he's going to turn his back on Sookie - merely because if CH wanted him out, he'd be out. This way he's got a huge dilemma - the lure of money, power and politics, or the unsure promise of love. Quinn said that Eric would always choose his Area over Sookie - but here, Eric has to choose to stay in his Area and not go for the bigger prize. Bill gave her some excellent advice in telling her not to ask questions too. This dilemma is all Eric's own - his own decision to do things, his own choice to fight hard for Sookie. This will be the thing he does that isn't easy and doesn't fall into his lap like so many other things have with Sookie. There's no reason to give it if he were automatically going to fail. And Eric is a stubborn bastard, so I'm sure he can hold out. :D

Surprisingly, I liked their relationship. I think that Sookie and Sam both seem to see the faults in each other's relationship. It means that Sookie can get good perspective in dealing with things. Sam is a bit of weirdo with definitely strong tastes in women, but he's happy to play the homebody, take care of the bar, while his girl roves out there doing what she likes.

I don't think Sam will break up with Jannalynn. Sookie might not like her, but Sam has definitely smitten with her. I think all the tension will die down after Sam commits to her, and they'll get along okay (not well) when Jannalynn figures Sookie isn't a threat to her relationship with Sam. And then Sam and Sookie can go shopping together while Eric and Jannalynn smash some skulls at their jobs. :D

Lol - that's hilarious! And so true. Good friend - terrible boyfriend. Poor Bill. I'm happy to see Bill doing so well and being, dare I say it, mostly content. He's working on his control issues too. I like that.

It's like the third circle of Hell out there if you *like* the books.

Tell me about it! Or if you *like* women. Or good storytelling. Or subtext. Or thinking.

Hate to grouse, but, you know...

It's unfortunately true - all of it. It's maddening.
