Well, you know I've read them. I was always a bit disappointed with them all until I read Allhailaugustus'. I'm pretty sure she's in English literature and writing courses, because she's spoken of being critiqued at university.

I'd say that they just loved her so much. I also think that she chose well. She didn't choose people based on what she aspired to be - she chose people just like her. Plus, she can reprimand them in their heads instead of out loud. Andre is pretty firm in his devotion to her, and Hadley seemed to want to keep her for herself.

You wouldn't want to make too many children - other vampires would start to see you as a threat. If you could create your own little army, then that's not good. You'd have to do it judiciously. And there's no guarantee that you'd like them, or that they'd survive.

Of course she would - but turning someone is something you do for the most part for yourself. You also do it from the *inside* of the problem. Pam has been in this world for a century or so, she's indoctrinated, and found that the whole balance isn't bad when weighed. The fact that Pam keeps surviving, and doesn't rush out at the first opportunity to meet the sun means she's decided it's better.

Ah, but maybe Pam doesn't want to tie herself to Miriam by giving her vampire blood. If it all goes wrong, maybe Pam prefers that distance. Maybe she's banned from doing that because she's a second, and has to focus on Eric's needs only. Maybe the amount of blood Miriam needs would turn her.
