Why Americans scare me sometimes - the Amazon censorship thing
Amazon has recently decided that it needs to censor it's sales ranking/search features so that people are exposed to evil sex stuff. (erotica, GLBT) That's a terrible summary, the great explanation is here: http://markprobst.livejournal.com/15293.html
The sad thing is that this means I have to look into other sources... I was actually thinking of ordering several reference books from them. (not sex related, but still...) A commenter to that post pointed out that Heather has Two Mommies has also been targetted.
Picture books about families with lesbians in them are not sexual. That's a statement about ideology. About the comparative rightness of life choices. That's dangerous territory, Amazon.
