Real Life
Well, mostly.
We got a dog a couple of weeks ago from the local shelter. Her name's Foxy, and she's apparently a chow, German shepherd, shiba inu mix. Yeah, that means she looks like a fox. A pretty big fox. Erect ears, purple tongue, red coat with black tips, cream under her jaw and her inner thighs, black tip on her tail. I'll try to upload a picture of her.
She's also extremely even-tempered. I have yet to hear her so much as growl (though she does love to bark). Shiba inus were bred to hunt birds, so she loves to chase the birds, running and jumping after them.
This is her picture from the shelter web-site. We haven't had a chance to take a picture of her ourselves (more on that later).
We saw Pirates OTC last night. Definitely worth the $15 or whatever two tickets cost nowdays.
I didn't see the slash so much (I leave my slash goggles at home most of the time), but dh commented on it. Just after Will helps Jack escape and they're fighting back-to-back, dh said, "it'll be a double-ring ceremony for those two," and he did the snort-and-nudge thing when Will said that his place was between Norrington and Jack.
I did see slashiness between Norrington and his sidekick, though, especially after she dumps him for Will. They sort of . . . look at each other. Something tells me Norrington's not going to be too terribly lonely without her.
Loved, loved, loved the moonlight thing. If POTC doesn't get the Oscar for special effects, that'll prove that the voters are on crack.
Oh, and we saw a trailer for the Haunted Mansion movie before POTC. :giggle: I wonder when the It's a Small World movie will be coming out.
We're going to be out of town for the next week and a half. I hope to do some writing while I'm gone, but you know how it is.
We should be back from our vacation by now, but some big meeting that dh had to go to kept chasing us around the calendar. We'd schedule our vacation, and they'd schedule the meeting in conflict. We'd rescedule, they'd move the meeting to the middle of that vacation, etc.
So they had the meeting this past Saturday, and dh had to go to a follow-up meeting today, and we're off to Florida tomorrow! Yay!
I'm not going to be extremely lj-able for almost two weeks. My mom has a connection, so I may check in periodically, but probably I'll just check my mail and get right back off.
