More Letters . . .

Aug 24, 2008 09:55

There's something about receiving an officious letter that makes the merest formalities feel momentous. (I am sure regular readers recall my giddy squee-ing following these letters.)

As of the eighteenth (this Monday), I have completed all of the requirements for my licensure in nursing (I am only paperwork away from having my GN, and only the NCLEX away from my RN!), and now am free to continue towards becoming an NP. Since the RN program is separate from the NP program, I technically had to apply and be accepted into the NP program, but as mentioned this was only a formality; my acceptance into the program was guaranteed as long as I passed my coursework.

Nevertheless, yesterday I felt a little lump in my throat upon receipt of this (obviously paraphrased) letter in the mail:

August 18, 2008

Dear Ms. W.,

Congratulations! You have been accepted into the Family Nurse Practitioner track.

Etc., much minutia, all the best, Sincerely,

-The Chair.

YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!
