1.) My greatest fears, in no particular order: Losing a friendship. Losing my hearing. Losing my mind. Losing my integrity. (Done all but the second at some point or another. All extremely unpleasant).
2.) Related to fear #2, I am an extraordinarily aural learner. In high school I got in trouble because I wouldn't take notes; when taking notes, I couldn't listen as fully to the instructor, and therefore learned far less. This was exacerbated by the fact that-
3.) I am also extraordinarily one-track-minded. I can do two things at once if I'm not paying attention to one of them (ie, knitting and reading [I'm a good knitter; I don't need to pay attention], or writing and listening to music [I stop hearing the music when I'm concentrating on my work]). I can't easily read and listen to music at the same time (see #2).
4.) Tam Lin is the name of a Faerie knight from an old Celtic legend. It's also the name of a fiddle tune. The fact that I named my dearly beloved marmalade cat Tamlin should tell you a great deal about me.
5.) I believe a nice cup of tea can solve most problems, except perhaps those listed in #1.
6.) My favorite author is Jane Austen. I love classical music (particularly from the Baroque period) and folk music. I believe in whole foods, intentional community, non-violence, feminism, and NPR. I was an evolutionary biology major. In contrast:
7.) I like fixing cars. I drive a pickup truck. I'm learning to ride a motorbike. I like tuna noodle casserole, trashy romance novels, and murder mysteries on TV. I teach fencing, I can throw a punch, and I'm going to nursing school. I love country music, particularly the Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash. Draw your own conclusions.
8.) I shan't write any more because I'm about to go tangoing. I shall wear black patent leather four inch heels, tied with a black satin ribbons around my ankles.
