RenFaire!
We had fun. Maria and I stormed the VT RenFaire. Okay, we didn't storm it at all. But we went, and fun was had by all. Anonymous sources informed me that I was to be blasted by marshmallows; I therefore (thank you, Maria) brought graham crackers and chocolate (bought in Price Chopper while wearing our full get-up) and made s'mores. Yum.
I dressed far more wenchily than I have in the past, since, well, I have no garb, and needed to borrow Maria's, and it's fun to be wenchy occasionally. Very very occasionally, in my case. We must have succeeded, since a random man asked whether he could take our picture with his son. He thought we were part of the show. Fabulous.
Oh, and I bought boots. Pirate boots. Indeed. Between Maria and the bare-chested merchant and the low price due to fake leather, I was effectively wheedled. Also I tried them on and tramped around and they are comfortable and have good grip and are flat-soled and will make excellent boots for fencing, which is their entire function in life. No more SCA events wearing Doc Martens. Ugh.
