Member Duties :
The Member's main responsibility is to provide training, support and evaluation of the volunteer corps. Museum vols serve as advocates for the visitors to ensure a positive experience. They promote visitor engagement with the exhibits and programs, offer insights and encourage interaction that will lead to an enhanced visitor experience. Working alongside the vols conducting public programs, the Member will provide support to the Museum's vols on the job while strengthening vol relationships with the Museum staff. The Member will train vols on programs and customer service as well as evaluate their interactions with the public. the Member will assist with vol recruitment/retention. Recruitment includes outreach to potential vols in the community through public speaking engagements and development/distribution of marketing materials. Aside from the general responsibilities of the position, the Member will also develop a vol evaluation system that can be used by staff.
