But seriously - this tips the balance and I now have enough fics to (gasp!) REC Sam and Jack friendship next month for stargateficrec. That category has all of FIVE recs, the last one of which was made in October of 2005.

So yay for Aurora's nagging, and yay for more fics to rec!

Aw, you're going to rec me? :) Wow, nothing since 2005, though?! I do think there's a blur between Sam and Jack ship and friendship fic - which is sad, if it means people who aren't into ship miss out. My own stuff, even if it starts out gen, tends to drift towards ship if I'm not specifically aiming NOT to do that.

Oh, yes.

Poor, poor Sam and Jack. Their lives are so hard. They never get to do anything fun.

I know! It's just work, work, work... It's not on, really. Shocking.

Honestly, I think they had a few in the first few seasons, but by midway through, it was nearly all human-form, although sometimes with prosthetics. But no giant crickets, nothing like that. I watch Doctor Who, I know it can be done on a tiny budget. C'mon Stargate, get your act together. *taps foot*

I like to think they did it on purpose, to differentiate themselves from every other low-budget sci-fi show. Plus, they did the grays, which--who really does the grays anymore? And makes them good guys?

But you know what they really need? CAT PEOPLE. IT'S SO OBVIOUS!

Also, the potential for weird species in the Pegasus Galaxy is WASTED.
