I tried to get up early enough to see some, but I didn't quite make it before it was too light, and there was also some low-lying clouds right where the pretteh lights would have been.

Still, I thought of Stargate on my morning walk, which is always good. Plus, I then had time for a really AWESOME breakfast--my favorite meal of the day, and so much better when one has time to enjoy a cup of mint tea. :-D

Heh. I went out and stood (in a car park!) at midnight, and saw a few. Wasn't the ideal place to be standing at midnight, but it was the only place I wasn't being blinded by streetlights. Yes, a darkened car park at midnight. That's not asking for trouble in any way. :D And I watched A Hundred Days beforehand. Laira irritates me less than she used to.

Oh, apparently the show carries on for another few nights, so you still could get to see them, possibly. But it's possibly not worth standing around in the dark for a few hours to see one or two pale meteors. Honestly, you'd think they could organise these things for a Saturday. ;)

Laira actually never irritated me much. In fact--if they hadn't done the whole romantic storyline, I could have easily liked her. I mean, she's a strong, female leader, and she's pretty smart, too. (Although really, a meteor show like that would prompt me to start asking some hard questions.) And it's not the romance per se that annoys me, but the timing, the fact that Jack *says* he's going to come back and then doesn't (making him rather a jerk, honestly), and, well, I could go on.

Hmmm...if I happen to be up and outside my town, I may attempt to see some more. Read: not going to happen. A good idea, nonetheless.

I myself watched Upgrades, D&C, and WoO last night. WoO is still just so very hilarious. And I still want to learn how to juggle. I have hope. If Jack can learn Latin...

Well, one might assume that Jack did go back, maybe once, and found she wasn't pregnant / wasn't interested in having a loooooooooooooooooooong distance relationship. They never definitively say he doesn't - yeah, in Shades Of Grey he hasn't, but that's the very next episode. And presumably the SGC stays in contact with the Edorans, given the whole naquadah thing.

And the whole town seems a little blase about those meteors. A third of them stay behind, despite the exploding meteors already hitting the ground. D'oh.

The only thing I didn't like about Laira was the "Give me a child" bit. Just, ew, no. Creepy.

And, hah, I love those three eps, so much. Unfortunately, the learning Latin was done by a fictional character. I'd learn to juggle if RDA would teach me - or Chris Judge, for that matter. Mmm...

I'd like to watch a version of Upgrades with the bits from D&C cut in. Wouldn't fit the tone of the rest of it, but it'd be interesting to see it in context.

I always get a little weirded out when I watch Upgrades and that whole section seems so short. I'm like, "But there's more there!" I also find it, really, really interesting that it's CANON that there are these missing moments here and there--I mean, obviously, there have to be--we can't see everything--, but they did it on the actual show.

I wish I could write more missing-moment type things. My brain just doesn't work that way most of the time.

I have to learn to juggle. HAVE to. I would totally learn enough Latin to get me through that if I were stuck in an endless time loop. Ten hours minus however long it took to convince everyone is not a lot of time. It would get annoying REALLY fast.

Yeah, women wanting teh secks for babies is not good--not like that, anyway. (I just realized how that sounded, and ouch, but I think you know what I mean). Maybe that would have solved a lot for me, actually. Hmmm...yeah, if it were just about sex, it's not nearly as weird in terms of the characters/narrative.

It just bothered me that she didn't suggest they got together - she asked him to give her a child. I mean, he was living with her, etc, but presumably they weren't considered an official couple as yet. So, nonono. I just didn't like. Eh.

You're feeling compelled to learn to juggle, huh? Whyyyyyy?

I started to write a few missing moment bits. I figured if they'd so thoroughly forgotten that bit that it didn't occur to them to think, "Oh, that's what the za'tarc machine is detecting!" until the last possible moment, then there had to be other bits too, to lead up to it. Practice stuff, things they omitted because no one puts everything in their report, right...? And Hammond doesn't need to know everything...?

But then I got bored, and stopped. Besides, Rachel500 on ff.net is kind of doing it for me, and I'd much rather read it. :)

I feel compelled to learn how to juggle every now and then. I don't understand it, either. :-)

Rachel500...*makes note*

Jack is so absolutely clueless in that scene. Sam's all--"We left something out." And then has to spell it out for him. Poor Sam. So awkward.

But can you imagine their reports if they put everything in? "Held Jack's hand. Well, not really. It was to cross a stream! Honest!"

Ooh, have you not come across Rachel500? The Aftershocks series, I and II - episode additions for every episode. She's just reached The Devil You Know. It's Sam/Jack, but within canon (i.e. they're not in a relationship), and she focuses a lot on Daniel and Teal'c, too. Explained Daniel's reaction after Sha're's death, why he so quickly fell into Linea's arms, etc. It's like the Stargate soap opera. But in a good way. :)

That reminds me, I should recc them on Redial.
