I think Sam/MacGyver could be interesting, especially since she once used his name as a verb. It could be kinda funny. You know what would be really funny if Geek!Sam met Mac when he was in his Dexter disguise. I don't know why I love Geek!Sam so much ( ... )

You owe me a meme? Cool! *has a memory like a sieve* I've forgotten what it is, but, visual aids? Yay! *g*

And yeah - Mac is rather goody-two-shoes, as you say. Not to my usual tastes. I do want to hug him and squish him and look after him, though. Also, he gets angsty on occasion. :) There was a bit in one I watched recently, though, that really made me laugh. Someone was spying on Mac, and had made a list of his activities, and it was so unbelievably, nauseatingly goodHee. I watched the A-Team, and Knightrider (had such a crush on David Hasselhoff! *can laugh about it now*). I don't think they played MacGyver over here... or if they did, I didn't see it. Oh, and CHiPS. Watched that a lot. *g* Ah, the 80s... what terrible and yet strangely loveable guff was produced... (I've tried to watch the A-Team in more recent years, but MY GOD is it dire ( ... )

Ack, didn't managed to get to that meme. I had a little too much fun at the concert I went to Saturday and thus felt particularly lazy Sunday.

I really remember Mac had the elaborate chemistry set to make no alcoholic eggnog and his grandfather being, "WTF, there's not point to it then is there?"

Yes, unfortunately the A-Team doesn't hold up well over time. It makes me sad. I have heard talk of an A-Team movie at one time and that George Clooney really wanted to play Hannibal which I think would be awesome.

Yeah, I bet RDA could be tough to work with especially for 'serious' actors. I'd probably be pretty annoyed with his improvising, but it seems to work quite well for him. While I'm not fond of prying into celebrities lives (until they're dead I guess. I love biographies.), I really wonder about RDA. He seems very contradictory in some of his aspects. I'd really like to get into his head. (Un)Fortunately, he's not popular enough in the mainstream for someone to do an expose on him.

Yes: even Mac's grandfather thinks he's too good. *g* I saw that one. Why the hell anyone would drink eggnog, alcoholic or not, is beyond me. Ergh. Mac seems to have a variety of disgusting drinks, often in large containers, barrels, giant plastic cartons, industrial blenders, etc. I dread to imagine his fridge.

George Clooney as Hannibal, ZOMFG! Hahaha! That would be excellent. They could have cast Jim Carrey circa Ace Ventura as Murdoch.

And, yeah, I was wishing I could read an official biography or such on RDA. He's just... he's really interesting. Lots of people seem to want to analyse him, I've noticed. I do, too. I wonder why that is? Maybe because he seems quite enigmatic.

If someone has to have you open the door for them, better to knock sheepishly but confidently. (I worked in a mail office, where we had a *bell* and people would just stand there and not ring it because they "didn't want to bother us." Sheesh)

And I'm in love with the MS blog, too.

:-)

These people keep knocking quietly. I ask you, what's the POINT? It's not like I'm going to have to get up and let them in any less. Grr.

*g*

I get ranty about this 'cause I've worked in a couple of places where I've had to open the door for various imbeciles. The worst was the one with the glass door, when I was a receptionist. It didn't make a sound when I pressed the unlocking mechanism - so they'd knock, I'd unlock it, and they'd stand out there waving, wanting me to let them in. I'd, meanwhile, stand inside, waving for them to try the (now unlocked) door. If I eventually gave up waiting for them to try the door, and got up to go open it, that meant letting go of the unlocking mechanism - thus making it seem as though I'd just been refusing to let them in until they'd waved at me for long enough... urgh. Stupid system.

Ahahaha! My work here is done!

Mac is sort of just this really, really good guy. Like he has this inpenetrable shell of goodness he wears. And it's odd how, despite the show being all about him, we really don't get to dig underneath that shell too much. Maybe that's a product of the 80's, I don't know.

Michael is amusing me muchly. Dirty_diana always says he's her high-maintenence TV Boyfriend, which I totally believe. Like her, it's his faults and the way he sort of admits them that makes her love him so. I'm that way with Rick big time. The fact that he's obviously flaky and can have his 'actor' moments just makes him that much more intriguing to me. It's not like I'm the one who has to date him and get a broken heart. ;)

Heh. Sometimes Mac is just too good for words... it feels like he'd just be a bit exhausting to be around. And yeah, I know what you mean about not seeing under the shell too much - but I do feel that it may be Rick being a bit opaque. Maybe. Or just that ultimately it's an 80s action-adventure series, and at the time that meant running around and explosions - it's only post-Buffy et al that that's included more oh-how-killing-these-bad-guys-makes-me-sad-inside. :)

And, heehee - MS, high-maintenence. Yes. *g*

Hey, I didn't encourage *any* crack today! And yay to fic working - though I'm sad you're getting fed up with Sam and Daniel...only...I would be RIGHT BEHIND any MacGyver/Carter you want to write (and, um, this is where I admit that while I am very familiar with the idea of MacGyver I've never seen a single minute of the show...)

And I am developing somewhat of a crush on Michael Shanks, thanks to the dry humour of his blog.

You are so not alone. I was actually talking to 6beforelunch about him last night...I admit I was strongly drawn to Daniel, but I kept insisting I was attracted to Daniel and completely not interested in MS. But now he's being all...charming and funny and real and just dangerous. Must avoid celebrity crush.

I have no good advice on the door besides perhaps finding a screw driver, attacking the hinges, and just removing the damn thing...

For which I am grateful. ;)

And, hee, I know the feeling - I felt like I knew MacGyver before I saw any of it. If you've seen the A-Team, and Knightrider, and Richard Dean Anderson, it's pretty easy to picture. :)

I'm thinking of putting a stern comment in MS's blog: "Stop being attractive and witty, please. I'm far too busy to develop a crush on you."

Yeah. My first high school chemistry teacher was a HUGE MacGyver fan so we heard about him at least once a week - which is actually where most of my MacGyver knowledge has come from.

I've seen a little A-team...no Knightrider - but I've definitely seen RDA :)

I would CRACK UP at a comment like that (along with being mildly mortified because something about fan-actor interaction always freaks me out). It really isn't fair! I always try so hard to not develop actor crushes and he's going and being charming and funny and adorable and...guh!

Heh. Not the best way to hear of MacGyver, perhaps - it would put me off if any of my teachers were big fans of something. A couple of English teachers adored King Lear and Wuthering Heights, and I don't know if my vehement dislike of both those is because of the teachers, or if I'd have disliked them anyway.

And I would never actually post that - although I think he might take it in the spirit it was intended. But it'd be a little freaky, yes... *g*

Oooh, Sam/MacGyver! I'd definitely read that!

I was actually thinking of giving it a shot myself - I've been watching season 1 of MacGyver at the same time as SG-1 season 9, to throw the RDA withdrawal symptoms off a bit and while going between shows, ideas come. But MacGyver...he seems like a hard character to write. *shrugs* Will have to watch more and give writing for him a shot! =)

Anyways, I just noticed I'm babbling here, so...I think I'll go shut up now... *hides* =)

Oh yeah, just one more thing...

I'm totally with you on the 'having a crush on Michael Shanks' thing! *nods* I think it's contagious or something! I've never been a huge fan of Daniel (yeah, he's adorable, but I'm mostly hooked on Jack and/or Sam when it comes to SG-1...), but...I can't help it!

Maybe there's subliminal messages in the various pics that have been plaguing flists lately and/or Michael's blog, too...*shrugs* I think it's possible. *begins to drool over Michael/Daniel desktop thingy* Erm...yeah...

Ahhh! Babbling again! Sorry!

I dunno... yeah, in a way. I find everyone's tough at first, though, until you write a few things with them in, and get used to them. Mac has a lot of cliches, and a lot of quirks of movement and look and speech that I think it would be easy enough to do a broad sketch of him... or maybe I've just watched too much MacGyver. *g* It's entirely possible.

Also, contagious, yes. MS is dangerous and should be contained. Although it can't be the pics - I keep pictures switched off, most of the time. He's attractive through mere text, too. :D
