Sir Guy's diary

Jul 05, 2013 17:38

Disclaimer, so no one calls the police: this is the fictional diary of Sir Guy of Gisborne from the Robin Hood BBC TV series. This season he basically has two settings: homicidal or suicidal, so please also consider this a trigger warning.

Disclaimer 2: Guy is an idiot.

Good heavens: they actually wrote this plot? These poor actors had to act this? They deserve hazard pay.

They made not too bad a fist of it, acting-wise (the less said of the script...). Richard Armitage, Lara Pulver (who plays Isabella - she's also Irene Adler in BBC's Sherlock) and Toby Stephens (Prince John) are particularly good. All very theatrical.

Lara Pulver? Oh, that poor woman! I did not like what they did with Irene Adler in Sherlock, but I thought she did a brilliant job with the script she had. I just wish she'd had a better script-and it sounds like Sherlock was by no means the only show with which she had that problem!

I know that she was also on Spooks, but too many people died on that show for me to watch it.

Yeah, I wasn't fond of what they did with Isabella, but she really makes you believe it. She's a good actress - and similar in both looks and acting style to RA, so they were very believable as brother and sister.

This show is so frustrating - you can see people acting their socks off, but they're up against the most ridiculous plots. It has such potential... argh.

*g* Yes, she was in Spooks after RA's character was (of course) killed off.

Just when I thought the spiral couldn't get any more ridiculous... I really should know better by now.
