Damn you, America - why can't you be watching Hustle, and not Leverage?!? Because Leverage sounds good, but isn't playing here, and Hustle is awesome, but I have much fewer people with whom I can discuss it.

Because I miiiiiiiiiiiiss Stacie and Danny, but I prefer the lack of them to the lack of Mickey in the last series, because they need a centre, a leader, a reason to stay together as a gang, and he's gorgeous, and complicted, and I can't believe he nearly beat someone to death (did we know that before? I don't remember). But I'm sad because the friendship / antagonism between Mickey and Danny was kind of the centre of the show during the first two seasons, and the are they / aren't they relationship between Mickey and Stacie was awesome, and I just don't think he and this new girl have any chemistry whatsoever. I mean, Mickey has chemistry with everyone, and all the potted plants, but she just has none. She's nice enough, but she's got no oomph. I can't believe she's a con artist. She just wears different wigs. And her brother is sweet but forgettable.

And I love their ridiculous camera tricks and talking directly to the audience, and the way they STOP and REWIND, and stroll back through past events with a new view. And I love Ash, and his tragic backstory, and his mischief and his honesty, and I adore Albert and would listen to him tell stories all day. And they're so mean to the bartender! And wasn't that last victim hilarious, when he just got so incandescent with rage that all he could do was shout "ARSE!", and flail wildly? He couldn't even come up with a threat. Just a finger waggle, and, "...Arse!"

And Mickey = Michael Caine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Danny = Steve Martin. Except Albert is also slightly Michael Caine, too. But I want Danny to come back and for Mickey to call him Ruprect on a con. And I want Stacie to come back and to be awesome as a brace-faced geek girl or a distractingly sexy art student or a glamourous financial high-flyer, or whatever, because her disguises always rocked, and she threw herself into anything wholeheartedly and without hesitation.

And I love that, although they mostly end up on top, there's a feeling that it could all end in tragedy.

Okay, I'm done.
