I'm just in the middle of reading A Civil Contract by Lois McMasters Bujold, and it's not just reminiscent of Georgette Heyer - it's reminiscent of a specific Heyer novel, namely Devil's Cub, with Cordelia in the role of the omniscient Duke of Avon. Not that I would dare compare Aral Vorkorsigan and Léonie. I keep expecting them all to rush off piecemeal to the scifi version of Dijon, and for Mark, or maybe Ivan, to buy several crates of really good wine. Heyer in space!
As with Devil's Cub, I think I still love the parents a little bit more. Oh, Justin Alistair and his magnificent, sininster gold outfit, and his flirtatious way with a fan! *swoons*
