My Life Has Changed.

So in an effort to update this without writing a very long book, let me give you the short story.

I had been feeling really strange for a week or so in the middle of November.  Then the next week I felt like I had been hit by a truck.  A very, very, very large truck.  My stomach felt sick, I couldn't stand to look at food.  It was so strange, I was hungry but hated all food at the same time.  I was tired and my entire body hurt.  Then my pants wouldn't button anymore.  I thought I was bloated and suffering from some serious PMS.  Except then my PMS lasted longer than it was supposed to, and the long awaited Aunt Flow never arrived.  Tyler insisted that I take a pregnancy test.  We went to the store and bought a box of 2.  I went in the bathroom and took one, and as soon as my pee hit the little thing a second pink line popped up.  I thought it was a mistake, and so we decided that I would take the second test first thing the next morning and see what it said.  It did the exact same thing.

We had to tell parents.  They were not as upset as we thought they'd be.  My dad was not even surprised.  He actually asked me if I was pregnant before I took the tests, he said he just knew.  (He also said he knows it's a girl.  We'll see.)

All four of our parents asked us if we wanted to get married.  We were planning on getting married in a year anyway, so we decided to go ahead and do it now since we didn't really have a reason to wait.  We weren't at all getting married just because of the baby, we just chose to get married now instead of later because of it.

Then the bleeding started.  I kept spotting and bleeding for 8 weeks non-stop!!  I thought the baby was going to fall out or something terrible, but the doctor said it was perfect and healthy and that the bleeding was from a clot outside the uterus.  When I first started bleeding I went to the doctor and we got this picture of the baby, it was only 8 weeks old and already we could see its tiny heart beating. The doctor said the baby was due around July 27th!

A few weeks later I went back for my regularly scheduled check up and the doctor did another ultrasound just to make sure everything was still ok in there since I was still bleeding.  Baby was 10 weeks old here, and moving all around!!  It was waving its arms and then it got the hiccups.  I couldn't feel anything, but we could definitely see it on the screen!  It wouldn't hold still for the picture, so it came out a little blurry.

Then, on January 7th we got married.  It was perfect, except that I had strep throat and a 100 degree fever.

We took a short honeymoon to Cincinnatti.  We stayed in a very nice hotel that ended up costing $800.  Good thing Tyler's parents paid the bill.

Then we came home, and things are still great.  I love being married...life is so much better now than it was this time last year!  I'm so much happier and I feel like I have my entire life to look forward to. We will definitely be finishing school and then making many more babies after this one!

I convinced Tyler that we should get a cat I fell in love with at Petsmart, his name is Gus.

Now I spend my time being stressed over money, my classes, and growing a nice healthy Fetus, all while be loved and pampered by Tyler.  There's nothing like having someone who loves you so much they'll go out and buy you food at 3 in the morning. I have felt the baby kicking and poking me several times, I'm waiting patiently until I can feel it everyday all day! This Friday we have an appointment to hear the heartbeat again. I love hearing it, but I always get so nervous before we go in because I'm scared it won't be there, or something will be wrong. In three weeks we get to find out if it's a boy or a girl and get another ultrasound picture. We can't wait!!!!!! We have all kinds of plans that involve natural birth, breastfeeding, and cloth diapers. I'll let you know how it goes.

This is the babybump at 17 weeks, this week.

Even the short version of the story ended up being kind of long.  Sorry.  Life is complicated like that.... I don't really know who reads this, or even cares, but I had a good time updating it...I'll have to do it again sometime soon.
