Finding myself off work and in need of some healing I found a friend going along to the Mind, Body and Spirit Festival so we could meet up. It's always good to meet up with a healer ;)
http://www.mindbodyspirit.co.uk/ The last day is tomorrow, should you feel like going. I had avoided it for years because of the 'fluff' and woo woo element*
Catching up over the last few months ensued, intermingled with browsing, buying and fun poking. I saw two signs declaring that items were "chemical free"! (What, you mean they don't exist?!) It was interesting that there were at least 2 overtly Christian based groups there. Luckily the tickets were not particularly expensive at £7 booked in advance for during the week otherwise the avoidance of crackpots might have become bothersome. We were also handed a leaflet promising us DNA ACTIVATION! Because of course, my DNA must need this(!?).
I was pleased and interested to find that 3 of my friends were going to the show independently. I think that next year it might be worth trying to get a group together in the week as I don't fancy fighting crowds of delusional people, hippies or indeed lovely people - at any point!
Some of my favourite crackpots to share with you:
http://www.cosmic-order.com/ - clicky for the awful website and Atlantean technology!
http://www.amegaglobalreviews.com/ Yeah, not that kind of magic wand! The stall was quite lame. It looks like a pen and will do nothing... woooo!
These guys were brilliant -
http://www.learn-shiatsu.co.uk/ £10 for 15 mins which felt much longer and really sorted me out after waking up very stiff and sore. I looked at their courses but it's over £5k to train fully so I won't be doing it. It does look comprehensive though, and all modular based with no fixed start dates which is very useful.
*Incidentally, I may have to embellish a t-shirt with a spangly "woo woo" now I know what it means
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woo (mostly definition 3).
