Why is being "fashionably late" standard? I mean, if you say an event begins at 5-6, why do people insist on showing up at 8-9??? I think it is rude, personally. I mean, especially if you buy food for said event and begin preparing it at the time you told people to arrive, only to realize you should put it all away again so it doens't spoil or go stale.
