So I went to Subway today for lunch. Behind the counter were three workers, two teenage guys and another guy who looked and sounded Mexican. The Mexican worker was the first "Sandwhich artist" while the other two guys were running the register and putting on the "fixings". Well, the Mexican worker was working so fast that I stood in line for like 5-7 minutes holding my completed sandwhich (which he had done without help from either of the other guys) before the cashier rang me up. Anyways, while I was in line the following incident occurred that made me severely bite my tongue.....
Lady in Line (LIL): I'd like a tuna salad.
Mexican Worker (MW): (Starts making) ::in Spanish accent:: Would you like lettuce or spinach?
LIL: Ummm....what?
MW: Lettuce or spinach? (gestures towards lettuce and spinach)
LIL: Lettucs? (turns to man with her and says loudly enough for everyone in line to hear) Did you understand the last word he said? I certainly couldn't. ::laughs:: Speeeenich. ::laughs again::
::Catherine turns around and gives lady very dirty look::
::lady looks surprised::
::Catherine is upset at how mean people can be towards others::
A small occurence. But I appreciated the man's hard work and felt extremely bad that he was humiliated while his two lazy, slow colleague's sat there and stared.....
Whoa to the human race.
