PepSi Fanfiction - I Love You

Mar 28, 2010 17:57

Title: I Love You
Pairing: Pepa/Silvia
Rating: PG
Description: It occurred to me I have never heard Silvia's first utterance of those 3 little words, so I felt it was my duty to write something small about it. Part of the series of short stories I'm writing. Does not follow on from the last one Move In With Me, in fact I'm placing it before that. Based somewhere between 'taking the walk holding hands' and 'fingerprints on the bedpost' :P

N/B: I wrote this and then lost patience with waiting for someone to just go over it for me. Apparently the weekends is when all my MSN friends disappear lol. Therefore any mistakes may be corrected later.

The table shook with the force of the slammed bag upon it, the sound causing half the room’s occupants to look over, only to return to their original assignments after seeing the reason.

Silvia Castro was annoyed. And when Silvia got annoyed, it meant someone was going to get an earful.

She slung herself down upon the chair in frustration, trying to rationalise where her bad mood had originated. Was it the coffee that hadn’t been present in the cupboard when she was certain she had left some in there? Was it the traffic that had seemed more built up than usual on the way to work? Was it the young wanna-be cop that had virtually knocked her over as she had entered the doors to the building? If she was honest, she didn’t know and she didn’t care. All that mattered now was that she was pissed off.

By the time lunch rolled around Silvia had completed most of the paperwork left on her desk. It had helped that very few people had the courage to approach her, meaning less interruptions and therefore more production. It was her stomach that reminded her of the time, and she reluctantly got to her feet to grab a quick sandwich and a less than pleasant cup of coffee from the machine in the hallway.

When she arrived back at her desk, trinkets in hand, she noticed a small note sitting atop it. Knowing there was only one person who would send her notes, especially in the shape of a heart, Silvia wondered if Pepa had waited until she had left the desk before planting the slip of paper. If so, it being her day off, how long had she actually been here?

She shrugged to herself, and placed her items carefully on the surface in an attempt not to spill her coffee all over newly completed paperwork, before picking up the note.

‘Meet me on the roof’

A small smile crept its way onto her stoic face at the words. Pepa always had a way of surprising her, and the romantic part was always present and definately not unwelcome. Deciding she could indeed use a break from the work she was doing, and her mood could use a little brightening, she picked up the horrible cup of coffee and headed towards the stairs leading to the roof.

Silvia swung the door open, the metal hinges not accustomed to much use squeaking noisily in protest. She sighed heavily, her frustration beginning to edge its way back, wondering why the brunette had to bring her all the way up here when there was a perfectly warm lab downstairs.

Red hair glanced up and her frustration was once again ebbed by the sight. Pepa stood a few metres away holding a bottle of wine in one hand and two glasses in the other. On the floor beside her feet a blanket lay with a spread of cheeses, fruit and bread.

“Thought I’d bring you lunch,” she grinned.

That was it. That was the moment it was all decided. There and then Silvia knew she was going to spend the rest of her life with this wonderful woman, and damned what the world thought.

Pepa barely had time to place the fragile items in her hands on the blanket before being engulfed in a bone crushing hug, tears streaming down the redhead’s face. “Shh Princess shh,” she soothed, not knowing what was causing the sudden outbreak but wanting to do everything in her power to bring a smile back to her pretty face.

Eventually Pepa managed to pull back enough to see Silvia’s eyes, wiping the last falling tears from her now stained face, “What’s wrong?”

The redhead gazed into eyes so full of concern she nearly broke down again, “I love you,” she stated earnestly, her voice low and hoarse.

The words took Pepa a little by surprise, and she couldn’t help the hitch in her breath or the increase in the pounding of her heart. It was one thing to know, but something else to hear her love say it for the first time. She smiled brightly at the woman in her arms and bent down to claim a full kiss from the lips she earnestly sought.

Silvia melted into the kiss, for the first time not caring if anybody saw them. It was their moment and damned if her fears were going to rob them of it. She wrapped her arms tightly around the neck of the taller woman, never wanting to let her go.

And she knew in her heart that she never would.
