The episodes I'm looking forward to the most are "Instinct", "Prey", and "Abyss". Instinct because it has the appearance of Maxima, and it finally addresses the "Fever" letter. I do think that episode is planning the seeds to what's to come later in the season. Also, it's being written by my favorite writing duo, Al Septien and Turi Meyer. Also, Chloe tells Jimmy in this episode that his insecurity is wearing thin, which is something that needs to be address at this point. It's gone on for too long. "Prey" could be very interesting, if written in the right manner. I don't mind Clark and Chloe disagreeing on whether or not Davis is the killer, but I do hope the writers give them both substancial reasons why they think the way they do. Also, Phil Morris returns in this episode, which is always a plus. "Abyss", judging from the leaked sides, looks to be focusing heavily on Clark and Chloe's relationship in the show's history (in particular, the scene Clark described in "Obscura" about his first kiss with Chloe). Other than Clex, Chlark has been such a huge part of this show's history, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it highlighted in this episode. I'm hoping that the writing will live up to my expectations.
I'm not really sure what to expect out of "Odyssey", the season premiere. However, seeing certain promotional pictures of a scruffy Clark do have me interested *g*. Hopefully, the Justice League's search for Clark will be interesting, as will Chloe's whereabouts since the season finale.
As for the rest of the episodes, I either don't feel strongly one way or the other (even if there's a thing or two I like about it), or I just don't believe I will like that much. I certainly do worry that the loss of both MR/Lex and KK/Lana (even though she'll be returning), will be felt tremendously by the fans.
This season, I'm hoping/wishing for several things. I am just really hoping for Clark to be the focus again. I've missed him so much ever since season five. I hope that Chloe will find her love for journalism again and return to the Daily Planet. Last, but not least, I hope that "Smallville" gives its fans a fitting ending.
How are you feeling about the season?
