Hee I try to avoid those debates now because some people take it so personally, it always either seems to fall into Tom is a stuck-up snob, or people pulling out all their quotes and examples yet again of how TW is their dream man *g* But to be honest, I do get frustrated when I see the effort that the SPN actors will put in for their fans, and the SV actors won't even sign off on a gag reel :/ I mean I'll say the same for MR, I wish he could have recorded commentary for Lexmas, or that there could have been a cast commentary discussing Hydro and Tom's direction. Michael was still doing commentary in season 3, and Kristin and Allison in season 4, but after that they semed to give up. I wonder if Michael decided not to bother when he saw that Tom wasn't, and then Allison and Kristin decided the same after season 4... Who knows though lol
I try not to be out there bitching about them, but I guess to be brutally honest, I do draw conclusions. Tom doesn't seem to promote SV at all any more, even in magazine articles. Which is kind of strange, and leaves Clark open to being even more overshadowed by the new guest stars if they're the ones out there promoting the show *shrugs*
I agree that it's a bit unbalanced in how Tom is singled out for criticism. And I definitely agree that it doesn't excuse the writers ignoring Clark lately! I do wonder what came first though. If Tom lost interest in seasons 6 and 7 because it no longer feels like his show as much, or that the new guest stars are being promoted so much because Tom has lost interest.
Maybe there's some frustration involved as Tom has always been adamant about only playing Clark in his younger years, and so they are stalling on the Jor-El training, the suit and the flying, and it really comes across like they don't have much left to say on Clark any more. It was really a five year plan. So perhaps Tom isn't thrilled about SV maybe being dragged out for another two years (to set up possible spin-offs?), when Clark's character journey should be basically done by now. It doesn't feel like Clark's story so much at times, which I can't imagine would thrill him. But who knows
I agree that AlMiles don't seem to have thought things out. My guess is that Tom is frustrated with the direction his character has taken. This show, at times, just doesn't feel like it's about Clark anymore.

And even if Tom doesn't do as many interviews as he used to, it still doesn't excuse the writers or AlMiles to completely ignore Clark.
