There is a great deal of desensitizing going on in the world. Mostly we think of it as seeing stuff on tv/movies/video games(death for example)
but one thing that also undergoes this concept is something a lot simpler:
words.
We have a tendency to be extraordinarily skeptical about the use of certain words - things can never be as simple and innocuous and they seem. Oftentimes we get so used to hearing/using a word that it loses all of its meaning. "fuck" for example is hardly an expression of emphasis or even a curse word nowadays.
Hiperbole is all well and good but I guess it is part of the problem. "i LOVE those shoes."
My only problem with all this is there's something profoundly wrong with feeling like words are questioned when they ARE meant truthfully. It can be quite troubling.
And quite frankly,
I will NOT conceal the truth.
