The finale

I've given props to my favorite hosts at Fox & MSNBC. I saved the best for last.

When it comes to politics these days it seems staying in the middle can be hard to do sometimes, but with the help of Anderson Cooper's almost unnerving calm and un-opinionated comments, I was able to enjoy neutrality at it's best while still being entertained with the conservative & liberal exaggerations being spread on the other two networks. CNN at one point was known as the most liberal news station on the air, but now that Jane Fonda's husband no longer owns it (a man I like to lovingly refer to as Big Ted & Mr. Fonda,) it's calmed down a lot. While many of the shows still leaned liberal most of the time, they were never done with the obnoxious pomposity of Keith Olbermann or the insane conspiracy saturated speeches of Sean Hannity. And most fair was AC360.

Anderson Cooper did an excellent job of presenting the election news and letting the viewer decide what to think. Ocasionaly guests like David Gergen would start going into heat at the mention of Barrack Obama, but would then catch themselves (or be caught) before they could get into the indecent exposure of MSNBC. Most notably, AC would feature Roland S. Martin on his panels who, as I've mentioned before, is one of my favorites and gives equally positive advice to both sides and doesn't force his opinion down anyone's throats even though he was an open Obama supporter. I've also mentioned before that this guy needs to get his own show. CNN would probably start winning the news game again if Roland Martin was on prime time every night. Anderson Cooper's "Keeping them Honest" bit was a great asset. It researched claims and allegations made by candidates and determined wether they were telling the truth regardless of which party they belonged to. The show even went so far as to give equal air time to stump speeches of all candidates in the final five days of the election run, often cutting one speech or another off short if it ran longer than an opponent's that was just run. That, my friends, is journalism at its finest.

I'd love to go off on a comical rant about this guy and make witty jokes or tell some weird & entertaining anecdote about my childhood that somehow relates to him, but I can't. Simply because he's probably the finest, most professional journalist on the air and that is something I simply can never make light of. One of my friends told me he was secretly gay, but that's an unconfirmed rumor that's only his business and certainly nothing to laugh at. Aaron Schock's secret homosexuality, though? We can have a heyday with that!!!

Bring AC home to meet the family for Christmas, his isn't all that well.
