Sick and continue

Feb 21, 2008 10:53

So the past week of my life has been a living hell.  I woke up on Saturday with a fever of 101.5, which didn't go away until Sunday night, and was basically bedridden until Tuesday.  If I talk for more than 5 seconds, I cough.  This is the worst sickness I've had in at least 2 years.  Now Daniel's starting to get it, which will be awesome, considering he's supposed to be going back to work in less than a week!  At least I won $2 at the lottery, a free dr. pepper, and, most serendipitously (sp?) both classes which I either woke up late for or didn't want to go to in the past week were cancelled.  My professors must have the same sickness as I.  Score.

In other news, I finished reading Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp for the 2nd time.  I first read it when I was 14, and 6 years later it remains one of the funniest books I've ever read.  The best self-bought birthday present in a long while.  Anna or Felix, you should borrow it if you haven't already read it.  It's well worth the 600 pages.  I need to see if C.D. Payne has written anything else about Nick Twisp.  I want more about his life and what happens after Youth in Revolt ends.

So my belated birthday party is this Sunday, put off due to my sickness and the flu of my cousins.  I hope I get that new printer scanner, since my piece of shit one has stopped printing black, a great hinderence to any report I may have to type in the future.  I've accually have to prepare rather than procrastinate, which is rather annoying.  I feel I type my best thoughts in the middle of the night / early morning when I'm pressed for sleep and energy.

I still have 2 hours to burn until my next class - the down side of having classes canceled.  I think I need to eat something, but I'm not sure, as being sick has suppressed all appetite urges.  I made the best smelling lamb last night, but I couldn't stomach eating it.  At least Daniel enjoyed it.

Blah, nothing else to write.  More web surfing pour moi.
