I guess for those who are new to Westerberg--faculty, staff, and students--I should introduce myself. I'm Emma Pillsbury, the guidance counselor. My office is located in the corridor off of the main administration wing, uh, just past the Hall of Fame display.

Okay, now that that's done, let's move on. They say the first day is always the toughest. Or...the first week, but from what I've seen everyone's been doing very well. It can seem overwhelming at first, even for returning students, but there's space for everyone here. I know that some um of the less... popular outgoing students, however, sometimes feel--you know--left out or...well, singled out for one thing...or the...other. And I wanted to say that my door is always open, to any of you--all of you, if there's anything you want to talk about. You're here to learn, but you can't learn if there are things keeping you down or distracting you--here or at home--...making you feel like...like you can't...like you can't do what you set out. To.
Oh, but that's not to say I'm only encouraging those students to see me. Honestly, anyone can stop by. Uh...

Um. Anyway, that's...all, for the most part. I'm here most of the day and can be here earlier or stay later. This year is looking promising already, what with all of the new faces and the excitement of...um...well, everything. Oh, and, speaking of exciting, a small heads-up for anyone who's new! Tomorrow will be club-rush. Remember to look for a ah sponsor for your club if you're thinking of starting one that doesn't already exist, and good luck! Try something new maybe this year, for returning students---remember there's no harm in, you know, testing something out and changing your mind...later. You never try until you know, after all---[ sheepish pause, and she hurries with this next part ] I mean, you never know until you try.
