Robin Nest Update
I was beginning to wonder if I had missed the show with this nest, as there seemed to be no action whatsoever--I would expect the birds to be discreet about coming and going, so as not to alert predators, but thought any eggs would have hatched by now, yes?
However, as I happened to walk out on the screened porch yesterday, I noticed that a squirrel was hanging around the tree--and just then the male dive-bombed it, from his nearby perch! I went outside then, to try to chase the squirrel off as well, and witnessed another attack on the squirrel--who took off, perhaps more discouraged by my approach than the robin's offense.
Q.E.D.--there must be something going on, for Mr. Robin to react so fiercely!
