So, I haven't updated my journal in a really really long time. I suppose I just haven't had much to say. I still don't have all that much to say, but am extremely bored due to the fact that I am back in East Lansing, and evidently everyone in the city is either busy or gone right now. Anyways, my summer was nice, and I managed to stay quite busy. I really enjoyed my internship for the most part and learned a ton. I even learned some computer programing. My group came up with a new program for simulating protein folding that we wrote a paper on and is hopefully in the process of being published right now :) I also worked with some pretty cool people. Other than work, I didn't do all that much this summer. Hung out with the few people who actually were in sterling heights and spent a lot of time with my family. We also made three trips to Cincinnati this summer, which were all nice, especially since I hadn't gone in 8 months prior to the first one.Even though I didn't have a thrilling summer or anything, it sure went by fast. I'm ready for classes to start, if only for lack of nothing better to do, but I'm sure I'll regret saying that once the homework begins.
Nothing all that eventful has happened since I came back to school other than the fact that there was a bat in our apartment last night! I was getting ready for bed, and came out of my room to turn all the lights off when a bat flew out of nowhere right past my head and scared the crap out of me. I have no idea how the hell it got into our apartment, or how long it was just hanging out before it decided to go for a flight. It must have flown in through our balcony door one day, but since we never leave it open for very long I still don't see how it got in, especially with none of us noticing. I also wonder how long it was in our apartment... I think it must have been chilling in our bathroom skylight for me to not have noticed it, and I think it flew out of our bathroom when it flew past my head. Anyways, after temporarily freaking out for a moment, I opened the both the balcony and front doors and waited for it to leave. After frantically flying all over the apartment for a good 15 or 20 minutes it finally flew out the front door. Which means that is probably still somewhere in our apartment complex, but I haven't seen it again yet.
Haha, always an adventure. I guess that's what keeps life interesting. That's about the only entertaining news I have to report. Which probably explains why I haven't updated in months. Until later live journal land!
