Ahh, More Than Meets The Eye Part 3.
Thankfully Discovery Family has retained the original Transformers cartoon, and thankfully they aired MTMTE 3 this morning. Even as much as it has aged, it contains three personal favourite moments:
1. Bluestreak's loyalty to Ironhide, who decides willy-nilly to pursue the retreating Decepticons on his own. Ironhide tries to dissuade Bluestreak by insisting "It's MY fight!" Bluestreak shouts back, "Make that OUR fight!" He follows Ironhide all the way back to Earth as the elder mech is shot down, keeping him afloat in a lake till Jazz pulls them to safety.
2. Jazz's call for volunteer fighters is a neat moment of unity. Everyone steps forward, including the humans.
3. MIRAGE. Ahem. I say again: MIRAGE. Yeeeah baby! He singlehandedly brought down the Decepticons' space ship from within. Nobody saw it coming. Everybody knew he wanted to go back to Cybertron. He easily could have, since the Decepticons were headed there. Who knows if that was his original intent for stowing away? Yet...he didn't. For me, that's the point. It would've been so, so easy and tempting to ditch the Autobots in exchange for a free ride to Cybertron. But he knew in that moment where he stood. Whether being an Autobot is easy or not, whether he's a team player or not, he sticks around for them. This is one reason he wins me over every time.
