Broken Nose: Fantasy
"Tilt your head back," she ordered imperiously. She reached out and pinched the bridge of his nose closed and thrust a handkerchief into his hands.
"Ow!" he howled. "I thought you said that it was done, that you weren't going to hurt me anymore? You kicked my ass, think I'm gonna ever make a stupid mistake like that again, ever?"
"No, I don't think you will, you big bully," she said absently, as she studied his nose. "Gonna need to put ice on that to get the swelling down, and whatever passes for a doctor around here will need to set it so it heals straight. Here--you feel where I'm pinching your nose?"
"Yes!" His eyes were red with pain, but he didn't try and stop her. He'd learned his lesson. She knew that he'd be her dog if she wanted him to--and he'd be more comfortable with that.
Inspiration: Survival day calendar had instructions on how to treat a broken nose, and I'd just finished critiquing a story of the variety "fantasy with female who is skilled in fighting."
Story Potential: Low
Notes: This little scenelet is interesting, but the larger story is one seen way too often.
