I just got home from work and I was quite shocked by what I saw. 20+ people lined up outside my store. You see, word got out that we had some Xbox 360s to sell today (about 56 that was whittled down to 40 cause people got special treatment). Some of the people had been lined up since 11pm last night. I'm quite surprised.
The turnout is actually better than it was on the launch day back on November 22. And I can only hope that it goes better than that debacle. The hypocrisy in the store staggers me.
I talked to some of the customers outside. I mostly got pleas to allow them into the store early (Which I couldn't do anyway). It was an interesting collection of people. From young kids around 14 to an elderly lady around, I dunno, ancient. I don't think my grandmother would stand in line at 6 in the morning to get me a video game system. All in all, it was a good night and fun was had by all.
In other exciting news. I bought 2 pairs of jeans today. Now, I know this sounds quite mundane, but that's before I mention that these are the first pair of jeans I've owned in over a decade. Doesn't that blow your mind? Is your mind now not completely blown? Incidentally, along this line, I found out I've gone down another pant size. Go me and junk.
I bought them and three shirts while I was out shopping with my friend Mike, whom I've known since grade 5 and is like a brother. He's in town and a little pissed at my work schedule. It's hard to find time to spend with him while he's over here from Victoria. I'm trying to plan something for this Saturday, but I can't think of a damn thing to do. He wants to go to a Canucks game, but I'm not sure if I'll have the money for that. Hope I can think of something.
My life isn't as fascinating to read as it is to live. Believe you me.
I bought the Sin City Extended Cut and Mario Kart for the DS the other day. I've yet to watch the movie, cause I hate watching movies alone (same reason I have yet to watch Batman Begins and Saved). The game however, is god. The single players is pretty classic Mario Kart, you can even race on tracks from every other Mario Kart game. But the multiplayer! Holy crap is that addictive. Jon bought the Mario Kart DS bundle and we race each other on our break. We've convinced several other people to buy a DS with the game cause you can play up to 8 players. I have yet to try the online play, but I'm sure it's a blast.
Speaking of Jon. His father sent him a Star Wars risk set for Christmas. We can't wait to play it, we just need to schedule a game. It will be all kinds of fun I am sure. I'm also relatively sure it won't break down into the near fist fights the other risk games we've played have gone to.
I am geek, hear me roar! Then wheeze, hack, cough and reach for my inhaler.
There that should catch everyone up with all the meaningful events in my life as of late. Or maybe not, I am indeed an enigma.
