I don't think there's much of a protocol to notifying people of stuff, except that sometimes it's difficult because people use vastly different user names on various platforms and I forget who is who. I spend too much time on Tumblr though; I keep trying to come back to LJ because there seems to be much less drama here? But that could be because I've been away so long.
