Went shopping today with the Weegie PN lot in Edinburgh - German market, various shops and ummm... a giant caterpillar!!!! I bought some more Xmas/Yule pressies, and it was great to meet 'em all even if I was the only Edinburgher there. Afterwards I went to Pagan Mouth, which had a pretty good turnout. We officially named our own mascot as well... Broomhilda!!! (hail and welcome, BH :) )

***N.B. It has since came to light that all of the below stuff struck through and in italics was just a rumour and based on some things that were said, passed on and misunderstood. Sandy's celebrant license HAS been renewed, and the ONLY reason why she cannot marry a gay couple is due to the nature of civil partnership. Only a registrar (not a religious celebrant) can perform the partnership and the official ceremony cannot have any religious content. This is (and both myself and the Pagan Federation regret to inform this) the law. However, the PF has made it clear that it is happy for its celebrants (including Sandy) to perform non-legally binding handfastings for gay couples and that these can be carried out either before or after (but not during) the civil partnership.***

Now, on to the burning issue of the day... are the PF getting rather out of touch? I am asking because one of my friends (Sandy) is a celebrant, and was going to marry a gay couple on Dec 21st. However, the PF have refused to renew her license as her marrying a gay couple is, according to the PF, "not the kind of publicity we need".

WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?!?

Ummm... isn't the Pagan scene well-known for its tolerance towards gays? Why is the PF aiming towards an audience that is less its loyal, paying membership and more a bunch of conservative, pro-Christian Voice, lets-not-offend-anyone, compromise-heavy cunts? And... why do people like the PF apart from the fact that they are the lesser of two evils when put up against Children of Arseyness?
