It is fun. It is my hobby. I do it for fun.

Sometimes I just need a reminder!

I spent the whole day yesterday on theatre business. Constructing the programme for our imminent play, which of course involves Photoshopping the cast pics into decent b/w, putting everything together into a coherent InDesign document, and chasing up the inevitable missing pieces.

When it was time to print, my computer let me down. Our printer is too old to understand what InDesign tells it, so my usual practise is to create pdfs and print those. And Adobe Acrobat wossname would not work. So I worked on the last details of the moves I'm teaching the chorus, while Beast wrought with the computer. Eventually, after we'd eaten and I'd showered and changed, we persuaded the printer to disgorge most of the sheets I needed as proofs. Gah.

Then there was the fun of having my rehearsal usurped. Plays are by custom rehearsed Mon/Wed/Fri, leaving our musical shows Tues/Thurs. And, obviously, during the week of a performance, the production in question gets the whole week, and we don't hold rehearsals during performances. No problem. So why was I informed (not asked, or in any way consulted) on Wednesday that the play would be in our main hall for their rehearsal? Hah. What's more, four of my cast were also involved in the play. One of them, quite rightly, stayed with me - it was Thursday, it was Musical night. Didn't stop one of the play's cast members from coming in to shout at her that she was supposed to be on stage!

All in all, a bit stressful. I think I got to my LJ at around eleven pm and was too brain-dead to comment to anything by then.

So this morning I have to finish the programme - add missing photos and credits and amend stuff someone's decided to change arbitrarily - no typos, though! - and get it to the printer. And then dig in and work on some publicity materials for my next *two* shows, omg.

I do this for fun.
