At the top of the karma wheel...

Karma wheel? That's such a Mr. Barkey circa sophomore year and I love it.

Things are certainly wonderful these days, and I'm still not quite sure what I did to deserve it. I had a fabulous and slightly tipsy birthday, plus my amazing roommates made me a cake. Years better than that silly of a birthday I spent in the hospital last year. That would have almost been enough, except (ironically on my birthday) I scored four tickets to see my boy. By which I mean Dr. Stephen T. Colbert D.F.A. Of course, I would have to wait until November. Fine, I thought, I can wait.

It turns out I didn't have to.

Jenny and I went into the city yesterday to celebrate my birthday since the train is free this week. On a whim, we decided to see if we could catch a taping of The Colbert Report. (Actually we decided this after my credit card was denied for theatre tickets, what I thought was a horrible stroke of bad luck.) It turns out that people generally don't receive standby tickets, but for some silly reason - a pair of really dumb girls without their IDs - we were in. I know, right? And my-oh-my, if he isn't just the most adorable thing I've ever seen. He smells wonderful. And - you can't see this on TV - he's beginning to gray a little. I felt like my twelve year old self at an NSYNC concert.

Anyway, his show was great and it was incredible and then Jenny bought me dinner and I was happy. That's right. I write good. ;)

Oh, and just to top off my perfect week I received word that the play I penned was chosen for Plays-in-Process. On October 4 I will see my words come to life. I'm stupid with excitement.

So that's it. My week isn't even half over and it's already been one of the better ones in my life.

Life should be like this more often.

Ciao,
Jessica
