An Excerpt from My Memoirs:
"My junior year was rapidly coming to a close. The most exciting part about this was that I would never again have to endure another painful hour with Mr. Brian Vento. His arrogance failed to excite me; it was hardly warranted considering I knew more about Anthropology than he did. Our final exam was a joke. We were made to watch Encino Man [which is full of anthropological value, of course], then write an essay dispelling falsities. Honestly. My essay was, of course, brilliant. I bitterly reminded my reader that if indeed one happened to dig up [and thaw out] an early hominid in Encino, California, he would not be a Cro-Magnon. They never left Europe. I also suggested that naming the man "Link" [for the "missing link"] was incorrect, because homo sapiens didn't evolve from Cro-Magnons. Cro-Magnons evolved from Neanderthals, who evolved [and died out] completely separate from homo sapiens. Homo sapiens evolved from homo ergaster and so on. It was a genius essay. I like anthropology.
Anyway, I turned in my little piece of soon to be Pulitzer brilliance and received an A. I was, however, unsatisfied. Mr. Shitface Vento had barely skimmed it, and had completely overlooked my talent. He was, however, nice enough to tack on some extra credit.
Why?
Because I had a thesis statement."
