About me: I enjoy archery. I also am a volunteer at the Georgia Aquarium. I know a lot of information about fish, and marine animals. Last year I spent 400 hours there, so really I’m there a lot. When I’m not at school, talking about fish, or shooting things, I like to play with my dogs and cat (well maybe my cat is less playful!). I can often be found with a camera pointed at something. I have also joined postcrossing to get some mail that is not just bills. Letter writing, like black and white photography, are skills that I wish people maintained in this modern world. In addition, my husband and I enjoy watching the Gwinnett Gladiators play hockey. I’m still angry enough about the lock out that I probably will not watch pro hockey this season. College football is fun to watch; I really like my alma mater, Georgia Southern University. In addition, I like watching international soccer games. This really became a passion when I spent several months in Guatemala during the World Cup. Everyone was watching or listening to every game we could. Even our drivers were listening to the games, and when you heard them yell, “goal!” you could ask who it was and keep up with the games you couldn’t see. My real sports passion is the Olympics, though, and I will watch coverage of the Olympics all day and night while they are happening. In 1996, I even got to go to Olympic gymnastics and volleyball in Atlanta!
Interests/Hobbies: Archery, photography, reading, playing with my dogs, volunteering
Music: lately a lot of pop, 90s Alternative, some country (mostly older), and Broadway.
Movies: Les Mis, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, looking forwards to quite a few this year.
Books: Mostly YA fiction, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, 13 Reasons Why, Enders Game
TV: Really almost none.
Pen pal Info:
Do you want email pals? No, I really want to actually receive mail.
Do you want snail mail pals? Yes!
How long are your mails? Always at least 2 pages, the longest I've written I think was 10 pages. It depends a lot on what's going on and stuff.
Reply time? A week, depending. I usually only send mail out on Wednesdays, so if I get a letter on Tuesday it might be a bit longer than a week.
Would you like your penpal to be male or female? Doesn't matter.
Where would you like them to be from? Anywhere. I especially like learning about people from cultures different than my own.
Age preference? 25+
What are you looking for in a pen pal? Someone who wants to build a relationship, and talk, not just send one letter and then disappear. :)
