interested in penning a pal
Hey there! Feel free to call me Florian or Flor, whichever suits your fancy. I’m an eighteen year old Argentine about to go through some excruciating exams this coming May which will decide the nature of my academic future, but I already have strong reasons to believe I will be leaving my home and studying my favourite subject, archaeology, abroad. As you can imagine, I’m very stressed, and it’d be nice to have someone to talk to while I’m relaxed. Keep in mind I’m a bit of a procrastinator though!
Orientation: I have had no reason to believe I’m anything but straight, but then again I’ve never really experienced any form of relationship-y things in my life. At eighteen? Sad, I know, but eh.
Language(s): Fluent in English and Spanish, two years of high school French, three years of tutored Japanese and hoping to learn Italian before college, and hopefully many new languages in college.
Interests: Anime and manga. I’ve read most mainstream manga except for One Piece and Fairy Tail (although I might be persuaded to), and I have watched a good bunch of anime. Most of those come from recent years, although I’ve seen Saint Seiya, Orphen and all those classics when I was a kid. Fandoms I’ve contributed to most are probably KHR and Durarara!!, but I’m also interested in Hetalia, Kuroshitsuji, Bleach, D.Gray-Man, Nurarihyon no Mago etc. I also enjoy psychological, more obscure manga, such as Liar Game or Doubt, and some of the slightly lesser-known Shounen Jump titles like Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. Oh, and I am a shounen-ai/yaoi fan, so I read that, and some yuri occasionally. Recently, I’ve also developed an interest in American comics, mostly Justice League and Young Justice. Also, any form of mythology, and ancient/modern/whatever history! I'm a bit of a history and language geek with some anime-manga-comics thrown in the mix hehe, and I never say no to a philosophical conversation ;D
Music: Not too picky, although my current all-time favorites are probably the boys of SuJu, a Kpop boy band. So, I like Kpop, Jpop, and most mainstream American music. I listen to Justin Bieber for the lulz. I really like party music too, especially regueton.
Movies: Pirates of the Caribbean is my all-time favourite, because, Johnny Depp. I also like the classic Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones, the Mummy & the Mummy Returns, Lord of the Rings, Transformers 1 & 2, and really, most adventure movies are right up my alley. I sometimes watch comedy to rest my brain.
TV: K and J dramas I watch sometimes, I especially liked YNSH and You’re Beautiful, currently in the process of watching Yankee-kun to Megane-chan and Personal Taste. It’s slow progress, but it’s progress.
Books: Harry Potter (about to start re-reading!), Agatha Christie, the Inheritance Cycle, Lord of the Rings, Jane Austen, some Charles Dickens, Wilkie Collins. I’m sure there’s more, but you can see where I lean from this haha
How many penpals do you have?: Not one
How many penpals do you want?: As many as want me, but I don’t think I can handle more than 3 or 4.
Do you want e - mail pals?: Yes please!
Do you want snail mail?: Considering where I live, this might be a bit of a problem, but if after some time we manage then sure.
How long are your letters?: Will grow longer over time, and then you’ll just want it to end hahaha, I’m rather talkative when I type, much more than irl.
How long does it take you to reply to a letter?: I check my e-mail daily, but sometimes leave things unanswered for a while because I’m a procrastinator, sadly.
Would you like your penpal to be female or male?: I don’t think it would really matter, but I’ve never talked to a guy online, so it’d be interesting either way.
Penpal location?: Anywhere is fine, although it'd be interesting to talk to someone outside of my own continent.
Age?: Preferably someone in the sixteen to nineteen range, although I wouldn’t mind someone in their early twenties so they may impart their knowledge on their younglings.
