need help:
in lit theory class, we talked about a process of reading literature or of leaRNING where there are four phases or stages.
the first stage is called falling in love. It is when you discover a theory or an author and you have to read everything by that author and you are simply reading for pleasure or enjoyment.
i know the third stage is called "disillusionment" where you realize that greatness is fleeting and that even if you read everything by and about a throy or an author, you can never truly know anything. . .
or something like that.
ring any bells?
anyone know what this cycle is called or who postulated it?
