From the cops at the station, to the medical patients. The cats across the nation makin sweet sency. All the Blacks and Caucasians, Puerto Ricans and Jamaicans, Cubans and the Haitians sing along with me. We need legalization new legislation so we can smoke cannabis legally. But the punk politicians and right-wing Christians wanna keep maryjane in captivity And I sing... Free maryjane, Free maryjane we mustn't be afraid of change 'cause even though we may be strangers baby we're so the same Free maryjane!
I might be liberal, but I am most certainly not crazy enough to legalize marijuana. Why not, one might ask? Well you see smokin' joints and taking huge hits on bongs over time will make you forget. And there is nothing more tragic in this world than to not remeber. As humans thats all we really have to show where we have been and more importantly where we are right now. You can look at a picture and say that was me when I was eleven and it was my birthday and that was my best friend Jimmy who ended up going to West Georgia and got Herpes from so ADPi skank, but we have tell that whole story in order to connect you in the present to the photograph. I look back in my memory to last summer and I wonder who I was then and who am I now? With all of the college kids returning home in a few weeks, will we be coming back as the same people, will we return to the embraces of the same friends we held so dearly a year ago. Do I know you? Do you know me?
